How Often Should You Change Your Bed?

The average person spends about a third of his life in bed, sleeping 7 hours a night and 49 hours a week on average.

Humans naturally produce 130 liters of sweat in the bed each year providing the ideal fungal growth medium when combined with high humidity.

Depending on the research, your typical bed sheets contain traces of fungi, bacteria, animal dander, pollen, soil, fluff, and all kinds of body feces, including sweat, sputum, excrement, and skin cells.

The average adult washes his sheets every 2-3 weeks. Dermatologists strongly suggest that sheets should be washed on average once a week and pillows once every 2-3 days.
If the sheets are not washed regularly and the occupant has scratches or wounds, they may be infected or even be transferred to a partner.
